Biosketch:
Barbara received a B.Sc. in Biology from Bowling Green State University and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She has served as a Scientific Editor, Acquisitions Editor, and as the Editor, Content Development and Acquisitions, and Director, Commercial Product Development, for BioTechniques and BioTechniques Press. She is currently the Chief Editor for Controlled Environments Magazine and the Science Editor for Animal Lab News and Lab Manager Magazine. She has been involved in freelance science and biomedical editing and writing, proofreading, and editorial project management over the course of her career. This work has involved biomedical manuscript copy editing, bioscience report and grant writing, solicitation and acquisition of manuscripts for editorial supplement series and peer-reviewed journals, biomedical manuscript composition, and assignment of reviewers for peer-reviewed publications.
